Over ten years ago I became aware of the "bull breed crisis" in rescue centers. Becoming ever popular, they were being abandoned through no fault of their own and arriving in pounds across the U.K in huge numbers. After 7 days many are put to sleep as they have no where else to go. In a bid to save some of these amazing dogs I built up a rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming organisation.
In 2007 following the tragic death of a young girl in Merseyside we saw renewed vigor at enforcing the Dangerous Dogs Act which makes it illegal to own an unregistered pit bull type dog - regardless of how nice that dog is. Many good dogs have died under this legislation and I founded DDA Watch a not for profit organisation that assists owners and dogs caught up in any canine legislation.
We began offering more and more behavioral and training help to owners of all breeds and specialise in rehabilitating and rehoming dogs that have been seized and held, often for long periods of time.
All of this has lead to a wealth of knowledge on a vast array of behavioral and training issues. I also have an extensive knowledge of the law relating to dogs.
Some of the countries top experts have recommended myself for rescue, rehabilition and rehoming of various dogs for which I have a good strong proven track record. I have a diploma in canine behavior and training and I am a member of the International Society of Animal Professionals and the Institute for Animal Care Education. I run canine safety courses for adults and children.
I live with five dogs of my own, two registered pit bull terriers whom I am the legal keeper for, an American bulldog and two Staffordshire bull terrier crossbreeds. I have four children who have grown up in a multi dog household.
We only use positive training and believe a "force free" approach to training is the only way to train. We will not allow or consider working with owners who intend to use forceful methods. For more information please see the section "Why force free?"
At Ambassadogs we are focused on providing canine training and behaviour services with the highest levels of customer (human and canine!) satisfaction – we will do everything we can to meet your expectations.
